Mid-Century Modern meets Industrial Reclaimed.
For this piece, I acquired the hairpin legs to give it a retro feel. While walking through my neighborhood one day, I found a pile of old tonge and groove Douglass Fur floorboards that laying on the curb. Excited was I to learn the owner was discarding them after a recent remodel of his 1920s bungalow. After cleaning them, cutting, and piecing them together, I built a frame that was stained to match the color of the original boards The existing layers of polyurethane on the top offered an opportunity to utilize the existing sheen of the wood.
